Just cause I found the question interesting "Describe your life as a poolee, and what advice would you give to someone about to go to boot camp."

I know this is late. As fuck

But here goes.

My life as a poolee only lasted 30 days. It began with a one week process- contract/ASVAB/MEPS. The next week I attended my one poolee function which consisted of a change of command ceremony (very motivating at the time) and a two mile run with cadence at a track near the recruiting station. Then I kept training and working on my IST (of which my weakest event was- and still is- pull ups). By then I had quit my job and was giving myself the thirty days to train and rest up for bootcamp. Before I knew it, it was Monday- February 25th, 2008 and I was on a plane to Parris Island.

And it’s ironic- late as this is- that today is February 25th, 2012. And, had I not signed a six year contract, I would’ve EAS’d today.
